LAKIS & ACHWACH
"This is no life for landlubbers like you, who have searched and found more on mainland as at sea", answered the old man, as I asked him to tell me a story from the time he was a "piratis" - a pirate.
Then he became silent and stared at the picture on the wall of the taverna. His eyes became smaller, just like he wanted to recognise something. A detail, invisible for anybody else: a three-master, fighting in a storm against the nature. He took his glass full with raki and strucked it softly on the table. He said: "To you guys, who're drinking seawater now. I'll be with you soon." and poured out the raki in his throat.
I don't know if it was the liquor or the intolerable silence of the bar, only a dripping watertap in the kitchen tried to break. Suddenly his tongue solved and he began to sing: "Pinun nero pun almiro, nero ap tin Mesojio" - They drink water, that tastes salty - water from the mediterrian sea. He smiled, just liked he found in the picture the thing he looked for. "At least I see you again, bastard. Did you really think you can escape from me?" "To whom you are talking", I asked him without expecting an answer. "Me ton Charo" - with the death, he said and talked on just like I wasn't there. "With the one and only master of the oceans. Yesterday, today and in all eternity. Then he talked about the mermaid, who loved him more than any other person on the world and about the enslaved egypt queen, he paid four fortunes at the Al-Chalili-market for, to get her free, only for one kiss….

TSATSIKI CONNECTION
If the songwriter and TV moderator Lakis Jordanopoulos would take a musician to the famous island, it would be under guarantee Hakan Gürses. The attained doctor of philosophy is the ideal multi-instrument-player (bouzuki, guitar, flute and ud) and also the "high" voice contrary to the bass of Lakis Jordanopoulos.
Since over 20 years the greek and turkish soul of "Lakis & Achwach" meets on stage. Not only in music, also in humour and the affectionately handling with equality and difference of their cultures.
Just as long Lakis Jordanopoulos makes music with Herwig "Max" Thoeny from Liechtenstein, called by his friends "the duke". With his doublebass he is responsible for the groove of the "Tsatsiki Connection". It is whisperd, swiss cheese is the great passion beside tsatsiki.
But there is no tsatsiki without spice and for that Metin Meto from Istanbul has responsibility. The great multiinstrumentalist takes in the band the percussion part - with an incomparably power…
The members of the "Tsatsiki Connection" played in many bands, but now the pure joy of music brought them together. Without complicated technology but with fine arrangements, without a show on stage but with humour and charm it becomes an evening with the passion and fire of the mediterranian way of life.

STARS OF THE SOUTH
Lakis Jordanopoulos meets Loukia Agapiou
It is not the first time the founder and bandleader of "Lakis & Achwach" Lakis Jordanopoulos from Greece meets the singer Loukia Agapiou from Cyprus on stage. The two had already in the beginning of the 90s a musical interlude, which can also be heard on the CD "XENOS" which was recorded in Greece. For this cooperation Lakis also wrote the songs "Intermezzo Levantino" and "El Fajum." Then their ways leaded in different directions. But even then Jordanopoulos knew that this circumstance could be only temporary. Some years (and CDs) later, he invited her again and they sang together the song: "ISOs" for the CD "Pirates". Meanwhile Loukia Agapiou recorded her first CD "The transparent soul".
And now: In his new program with the title: "Stars of the South" Lakis Jordanopoulos invites Loukia Agapiou, the great guitar-player Antonis Vounelakos from Greece and the musical emphasis on the bass, Herwig Thoeny from Lichtenstein, an east-mediterranean evening with "fine sounds".
